CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT TRILOBITES
For advanced trilobite collectors, the Dikelokephalina sp. trilobite is a difficult species to locate, especially in a fine, natural state as this remarkable specimen is. Only very rarely do we ever come across a nice one that is worthy of offering for sale but this one is the exception.
It is shown with extensive intact natural carapace preserved including all anatomy with the exception of only 20 mm of the tip of the right genal spine being restored. This is virtually an immeasurable amount in percentage since it is the only portion that was absent. All the rest of the specimen is 100% original. The pygidium, the eyes, pleural spine tips, it's all there in a natural chocolate brown hue. Due to the nature of collecting these trilobites in shale, almost always the trilobites are damaged when the rock is split. Repair and some restoration is usually unavoidable but in this rare example none of the typical heavy restoration was necessary. This is the only specimen of this rare species we have to offer and it has been a very long time since we have seen anything else as nice as this example.
