Fossil Great White shark teeth from U.S.A. are highly uncommon in the Miocene / Pliocene layers. It seems that during the reign of Carcharodon megalodon, the Great White shark, Carcharodon carcharias, was keeping a low profile and for a good reason, Megalodon was much larger with just as bad an attitude if not worse. It isn't until the Pleistocene that the fossil shark teeth of the Great White Shark are found with greater regularity.
This 2.75 inch tooth from an incredibly large prehistoric Great White shark is truly a prize specimen. A tooth of this size is an extremely rare find! It features a cool speckled blue and silvery gray enamel with serrations and tip that are sharp but with natural feeding wear. A portion of one of the blade edge bases was bitten, showing a worn surface. This indicates that even after the shark bit down on its own tooth, the tooth remained in its jaws for countless meals, thereafter. Root is intact, complete and extraordinarily robust. No doubt, the bite force of a Great White shark this size would have required a robust root to anchor the teeth firmly in the jaws. NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION.
A Great White fossil shark tooth in this size is the equivalent to a Megalodon tooth approaching 7 inches, the largest size class. Whereas a Megalodon tooth that size could easily fetch $60,000 - $80,000, this tooth is a bargain to be able to acquire one of the largest size Great White teeth! This huge fossil Great White tooth represents one of those rare life chances to add a RECORD-SIZE prehistoric Great White tooth to your collection. We do not clear-coat or enhance our teeth in any way. These Great White Shark fossil teeth are becoming harder and harder to find in really nice and complete condition and are FAR MORE RARE than the South American teeth that flooded the market in the past years.
Guaranteed NO RESTORATION OR REPAIR. VERY highly recommended for the collector of the fine quality fossil shark teeth.
