CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT MEGALODON
Despite selling many superb, investment-grade Megalodon teeth over the past years, we have yet to ever see a tooth like this. There is a huge, light gray spot on the labial side tip that appears to be STRUCTURALLY different, as well as colored different. You can see a small separation in the enamel in areas around the edge of the spot. In addition, this tooth is simply a STUNNING example of supreme quality in both color and condition. With most teeth found being in poor condition and of drab colors, advanced collectors always gravitate towards teeth of exceptional quality AND ESPECIALLY, ones that show unique colors or features such a this! This spectacular tooth is loaded with so many features desired by advanced Megalodon tooth collectors. Teeth like these are getting certainly harder to come by in today's market. Current and increasing future demand will never be satisfied by the dwindling numbers of the truly top grade specimens such as this beauty, hence their constantly increasing prices each year.
Every aspect about this beautiful tooth makes it stand out from all other teeth. The naturally lustrous blue gray enamel has a HIGHLY UNUSUAL addition of copper red and brown highlights. The serrations and tip are sharp and undamaged. The uniquely colred root and bourlette just add more beauty to an already incredibly stunning tooth. The tooth's high luster is NATURAL and unlike many other teeth on the market, has not been machine polished, dipped in oil, floor polish, car wax or coated with some type of artificial shine. The black-brown root is extremely dense and with the jet black bourlette, they wonderfully compliment the glossy enamel. Serrations and tip are complete and truly PHENOMENAL! Blade edges where the serrations meet the root on either side are unbroken. There are tons of Megalodon teeth out there on the market that will never be worth the money you pay for them and truckloads have been found for every single tooth that is of this quality.
This specimen has NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. VERY rarely are Megalodon teeth found of this caliber any more!!!
Divers will tell you that megalodon teeth like this are extremely difficult to find in today's waters. This spectacular specimen is loaded with so many features desired by advanced Megalodon tooth collectors. Current and increasing future demand will never be satisfied by the dwindling numbers of the truly top grade specimens such as this beauty, hence their constantly increasing prices each year.
Megalodon teeth found in rivers are almost always heavily eroded and worn from the high energy environment in which they were subjected to. They usually have dull, sand-blasted enamel, peeling back from the core. The roots are often damaged. While we strictly avoid Megalodon teeth with restoration or repair, Caveat emptor as some Megalodon teeth in dealers' inventories in the larger sizes and "seemingly" fine qualities, have repair or restoration and this is not often disclosed to the buyer accurately either because of ignorance or dishonesty. Paleo Direct gets all its teeth directly from divers and cleans every specimen in our own on-premises lab facility.
