Product Description
Living through the final days of all the famous dinosaurs of the Hell Creek Formation in the U.S.A., Borealosuchus was a sizable crocodyliform reptile that thrived in the swampy plains frequented by predators such as Tyrannosaurus rex and dromaeosaurs (raptors). This is a PREMIUM set of a fossil tooth and a fossil dermal armor plate (osteoderm) from a full size Borealosuchusreptile of the Late Cretaceous. Borealosuchus lived past the extinction of the dinosaurs into the Eocene but, these fossils were found in the Hell Creek Formation in Cretaceous layers, hence their dating limited to that era.
This set includes one SUPREME GRADE, UNBROKEN complete tooth and a well-preserved complete fossil osteoderm found together in the same deposit. The tooth has natural feeding wear in the form of a groove worn on the side from another tooth. The preservation and color are remarkable and very well-preserved. A great addition to a well-diversified collection of prehistoric dinosaurs and reptiles.
Crocodyliform reptiles lived right alongside some of the most dangerous dinosaurs of the Cretaceous Period of the Hell Creek Formation They would had predator competition from monster, meat-eating dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus rex, along with packs of dromaeosaurs, scavenging and hunting the swamps and creek beds where the crocodyliforms thrived.
