Showing highly decorated carved and incised ornamentation, this set of 5 large stone and ceramic beads dates back to a period from 800-1200 A.D. and is attributed to the ancient Pre-Spanish Chimu Culture. Each bead would have been likely used as a centerpiece in a bead necklace and each features superb carving and incised designs. All are INTACT with NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. Beads were the first form of human body adornment and across all cultures, it is interesting to see how each society manifest their identity in beads over the ages. A great set of large, elaborate examples of the finest preservation.
