This very large Rose Quartz crystal lamp was made from a large single crystal found in Brazil, that has been bored from the underside so that a light can be placed inside to illuminate the crystal. It is larger than most on the market. The warm pink tone offers a soothing and subdued glow when lit. A corded lamp kit is included with an LED bulb. The overall weight is 10 lbs (4.5 kg).
Rose quartz is a pink, translucent variety of quartz with a massive habit. Rose quartz is always anhedral and does not occur as well-formed crystals. Its color is due to microscopic inclusions of a fibrous silicate mineral related to dumortierite. Rose quartz is dichroic and may display asterism when cut into spheres or cabochons. It formed at very high temperatures of 400–700 °C (752–1,292 °F) in the quartz cores of pegmatites. Rose quartz is commonly used in lapidary for carvings and as a semiprecious gemstone.
