PHOTO USE LICENSING FEES

A brief word about our images

Studio quality, high-resolution images of the subject matter of fossils and antiquities are not common because the model used in the photos are INHERENTLY RARE.  Desirable photos of this subject matter requires the presence of the actual RARE item itself.  The items featured in our studio-quality photos are of a scarcity and condition that exceed what most world-class museums publicly exhibit or even house in their inventories.

Anyone can sell a photo of a flower because flowers are everywhere, but fossil and artifact images require exceptionally nice specimens, most being scientifically VERY RARE.  Such a photo subject in of itself, is very difficult to locate and capture in a studio.

Image Licensing Fee Guidelines

These license rates are guidelines only; rates are not final without personal confirmation.

Discounts are available for multiple images or uses.  Unlimited use fees are also available. 

All fees to be PRE-PAID prior to delivery of the image(s).  We accept all major credit cards.

1.  Rates and rights granted are for the images of FOSSILS and ARTIFACTS ONLY.

2.  All works using images must also display a photo credit citing PaleoDirect.com as the source.

            This credit must be in close proximity to the image used (preferred) or

            in a special section listing credits.

3.  A copy of the publication using the image is required for our archives.

All fees here represent one-time use, non-exclusive licensing.

Re-use Fees
