Product Description
These CAPSIAN TRADITION artifacts were found on an exposed African Neolithic site in the Sahara Desert in Northwest Africa. Each was masterfully fashioned by African Neolithic humans (Homo sapiens sapiens) between 10,000 and 4,700 years ago.
This choice grade kit represents three typical but superb examples of stone tool types of this period, a KNIFE, a SIDE SCRAPER and a DISCOIDAL SCRAPER. All of these tools are equal in their display of skill of workmanship and preservation. While knives and side scrapers are more common, discoidal scrapers are not. Each of these tools also features cortex, or a portion of the original "skin" of the flint nodule.
