CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT CAVE BEARS
This is a very rare fossil vertebra of a Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus) because of its western Europe provenance. It is nearly complete with an intact neural canal, complete body and only minor losses to its processes. Western Europe cave bear fossils are EXTREMELY RARE and very little is known from Belgium. From a very old private European collection and the first time we have ever seen any remains like this from caves in western Europe, for sale. NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. A must for cave bear fossil fans and a RARE CHANCE TO ACQUIRE A CAVE BEAR FOSSIL FROM WESTERN EUROPE.
True Cave Bear fossils from the European extinct Ice Age bear Ursus spelaeus have become quite rare in today's market. Not to be confused with those sold from Russia (Siberia), fine quality examples of any fossil remains of the cave bear in classic Europe, are scarce. The Cave Bear of Europe was a beast both feared and worshipped by Neanderthals and Cro-magnon man as they were forced to co-exist and compete for shelter during the final Ice Age. A classic beast of the Pleistocene, no vertebrate fossil collection showcasing animals of the last Ice Age and even primitive human history should be without some fine grade examples of fossils of this animal.
