CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GIANT SLOTHS
This is an ultra-rare and beautifully preserved massive, complete claw is from the giant ground sloth Lestodon armatus. The claw is HUGE and in immaculate preservation with the color and detail rarely seen in such a scarce species. Specimen is heavy and well mineralized with amazing intact anatomical detail. This RIGHT FOOT claw is exceptionally large and is complete from tip to joint. The preservation and condition is as perfect as it gets with the color and detail you see above as being 100% NATURAL with NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. This claw was found intact and the uncommon white color with a blush of blue is natural. Specimen is heavy and well mineralized. MOST DEFINITELY A MUST FOR THE ADVANCED FOSSIL COLLECTOR OF RARE ICE AGE BEASTS!
THIS CLAW IS MUCH MORE RARE SO THAN A NORTH AMERICAN FOSSIL SLOTH CLAW DUE TO THIS BAN ON FOSSIL EXPORT OR IMPORT FROM SOUTH AMERICA. It was acquired by us from an old private collection in Florida. The mesmerizing soft color transition and impeccable surface texture of this fossil begs for it to displayed open and handled hence, the lack of a display box. Custom-made stand suspends the claw in a life-like pose and is included. INVESTMENT CLASS because of size, condition and permanent ban on future collecting at this source!
