CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE WOOLLY RHINOCEROS
This is the FINEST GRADE fossil molar tooth from the upper jaw of the giant European Woolly rhinoceros, known scientifically as Coelodonta antiquitatis. The enamel of the crown is an incredible golden cream color with a dark brown contrasting root. The condition is very rare because the root is present and is intact with a hollow interior and thin wall indicating this came from a sub-adult rhinoceros. The crown is well-preserved with detailed anatomy and natural feeding wear from when this beast was alive. Wooly Rhino fossils are far less abundant than other Ice Age beasts such as Woolly Mammoth. Woolly rhino teeth of this size, quality and preservation are RARE!!! You will find one tooth like this for a thousand of the typical partial or eroded examples with no roots you see on the market. This tooth is INTACT and with NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. A highly recommended fossil from one of Europe's classic beasts of the Ice Age.
This fossil would also make a great compliment to a primitive man stone tool and weapon collection as they lived alongside each other at one point in history and were hunted and revered by both Neanderthal man and Cro-Magnon man.
