This specimen is a choice grade fossil tooth of a Liodon anceps mosasaur from the Oulad Abdoun Basin of Morocco. It was dug from the mines comprising the Maastrichtian phosphates of the Ganntour Basin (Morocco). Matrix is original to the tooth and includes other various associated fossils. Teeth of this species are extremely scarce and can be readily identified from other mosasaurs by their flattened, laterally compressed cross-section.
