After 32 years of working with fossils, this is THE FIRST time we have ever seen a complete dromaeosaur rib bone fossil for sale. Words just cannot describe how scarce such a find is. Even more amazing is that the rib is not just complete, IT IS UNBROKEN! The bone is very well-mineralized and retains all its anatomical detail. Dromaeosaur bones are so fragile and rare survive the fossil record, especially in complete form as this. The most commonly seen dromaeosaur bones are "toe" bones due to their compactness and durability to survive the ages. On the contrary, a rib is THE MOST FRAGILE which is why this offer is a once-in-a-lifetime find.
Color is a rare white and pinkish hue with silicified sand on some surfaces that remained after our lab cleaning to give it site provenance. Despite years and years of overseas travel to the fossil deposits of the Kem Kem Beds in the Sahara, this is the first time we have ever even seen a bone like this from a dromaeosaur.
