Product Description
This set of TWO fossil shark teeth of the extinct Mako shark called Isurus hastalis, were found in Belgium, from a unique land site. Fossil shark teeth from Europe are much more scarce than countries such as the United States or South America, making these teeth are great addition to diversify a fossil shark tooth collection.
This prehistoric shark is a member of the White Shark family. Teeth from Isurus hastalis look remarkably similar to the modern Great White Shark less the serrations. Little is known about this species and it is classified in the genus Isurus (Mako) due to its characteristic smooth edges. Some consider this shark the "Grandfather of the Great White".
Both teeth in this set are of excellent quality compared to those found there, and are complete. The enamel has superb preservation with choice natural luster and colorful patterns.
