Product Description
Included in this fantastic fossil shark tooth group are SIX teeth of the giant Megalodon (5) and Mako (1) shark called Isurus hastalis. The massive Megalodon shark is one of the largest and most fearsome predators that ever existed in the ancient seas. Owning a genuine tooth from these terrible creatures of prehistory is the pride of many collectors. Five of these teeth came from the famous shark known scientifically as Carcharocles megalodon - the largest and deadliest shark that ever lived! The sixth tooth came from Isurus hastalis, a a member of the White Shark family. Teeth from Isurus hastalis look remarkably similar to the modern Great White Shark less the serrations. Little is known about this species and it is classified in the genus Isurus (Mako) due to its characteristic smooth edges. Some consider this shark the "Grandfather of the Great White".
All teeth show naturally lustrous, colorful enamel and display natural feeding wear and damage when the sharks were alive.
