FINEST QUALITY, INTACT AND UNCOMMON SPECIMEN - FROM AN ALLIGATOR-LIKE CREATURE THAT LIVED ALONGSIDE T. REX!
This is a superb specimen and it is INTACT WITH NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. The partial original root is still attached. The rich dark brown colors are typical for this formation. The crown is complete with characteristic wrinkled enamel. This is an uncommon fossil tooth from an alligator-like creature which lived during the final days of the dinosaurs including during the time of T. rex. A fascinating and impressive specimen.
Alligator-like creatures lived right alongside some of the most dangerous dinosaurs of the Cretaceous Period. This is a fossil tooth of such a reptile called Brachychampsa montana. Teeth from these extinct reptiles are uncommon and indicate a swampy, wet environment once existed where they were collected from. Fossils of creatures like this that are much lesser known, make for interesting compliments to dinosaur fossil collections and exhibits of the same period and formation. Such specimens help to illustrate the diversity of fauna and type of world that once was the Late Cretaceous of Hell Creek.
The famous Hell Creek deposit in the Northwestern United States has been immortalized again and again on numerous TV documentaries as the "Valley of the T. rex". For its astonishing array of dangerous and large prehistoric predator fossils, no place has captured more attention or has been featured more in the news than Hell Creek! Fine grade fossils from this formation are amongst the most sought after specimens for collectors around the world. Most of the dinosaurs we grew up learning about as kids, come from Hell Creek.
