The vast majority of flake tools from the Neolithic of Capsian Tradition of Africa are a fraction of the size of these two massive artifacts! This is a MUSEUM-CLASS pair of unusually large flint tools of a knife with integral handle, and a drill or borer. Both tools are of THE FINEST examples of their type and both being made of tabular flint with outer white cortex surfaces still remaining. The knife is really amazing since it was designed to be held in the hand with an integral handle, rather than be a flake blade that would have required it to be attached to a separate handle. The borer drill is huge and could have been used to pierce very large animal hides to make tent shelters or clothing.
Both tools exhibit a very heavy "desert varnish" naturally glossy wind polishing from laying exposed to the blowing sands in the Sahara desert, for thousands of years. You could not ask for more impressive and top grade primary flake stone tools from this African Neolithic culture! Both are of the highest degree workmanship, complete and intact.
