The mesmerizing, naturally lustrous WARM CREAMY GRAY enamel displays beautifully with the contrasting root. Both sides show dramatic black patterns in the high luster enamel that is NATURAL. Features like this set this tooth apart from the thousands of common teeth most often found. This tooth's high luster is NATURAL and unlike many other teeth on the market, has not been machine polished, dipped in oil, floor polish, car wax or coated with some type of artificial shine. Serrations and tip are complete and crisp! Blade edges where the serrations meet the root on either side are unbroken. VERY rarely are Megalodon teeth found of this caliber any more!!!
Despite selling many superb, investment-grade Megalodon teeth over the past years, each year becomes INCREASINGLY difficult to acquire fossil teeth of this level. Teeth like this are nearly impossible to find now, this one coming from a diver's private collection. This COLLECTOR GRADE fossil shark tooth shows features that very few teeth today, can boast of. To have a single tooth in your collection of this caliber can give much more pride and enjoyment than having a room filled with mediocre, junk teeth. We advise collectors all the time, of this principle. It is true for any rare collectible - buy the best. Most often, we see collectors spending a fortune over time and when added up, it's a collection of common, junk pieces. The sum of what was spent could have purchased a few incredible specimens. For every tooth that a diver finds of this quality, thousands of garbage, ordinary teeth are found and it is these that you typically see for sale. Sure they sell for much less but they will NEVER go up in price - there are simply too many of them.

Divers will tell you that Megalodon teeth like this are extremely difficult to find in today's waters. This spectacular specimen is loaded with so many features desired by advanced Megalodon tooth collectors. Megalodon teeth found in rivers are almost always heavily eroded and worn from the high energy environment in which they were subjected to. They usually have dull, sand-blasted enamel, peeling back from the core. The roots are often damaged. While we strictly avoid Megalodon teeth with restoration or repair, Caveat emptor as some Megalodon teeth in dealers' inventories in the larger sizes and "seemingly" fine qualities, have repair or restoration and this is not often disclosed to the buyer accurately either because of ignorance or dishonesty. We get all our Megalodon fossil teeth directly from divers and clean every specimen in our own on-premises lab facility.
