This is a top-grade BEAUTY!  The light orange and pearl-colored enamel displays a natural high luster, NOT from machine polishing.  When tilted in strong light, the enamel changes colors and displays extreme reflectivity.  Red and orange hues accent an underlying pearly white enamel.  You can see this in some of the above photos.  Orange and red are some of the most desired colors in Megalodon teeth amongst top collectors.  The majority of Megalodon teeth are rather drab colors so collectors always gravitate towards colorful teeth given all other features being equal. St. Mary's River Basin is famous for producing teeth of very unique colors as well as producing dramatic open spotted patterns in the enamel.  This tooth faintly displays some of those famous large spots on the labial side, along with fantastic color patterns on both sides.  The root and bourlette contrast the enamel in a stunning pumpkin orange!  Serrations and tip are well preserved and sharp.  Only very light feeding wear on the serrations.

Divers  will tell you that Megalodon teeth like this are extremely difficult to find in today's waters.  This spectacular specimen is loaded with so many features desired by advanced Megalodon tooth collectors.  Current and increasing future demand will never be satisfied by the dwindling numbers of the truly top grade specimens such as this beauty, hence their constantly increasing prices each year.
