The stunning, highly lustrous multi-colored gray-blue with cream highlights. There is a spot near the base that shows what looks like the shark had a small infection, causing a pathological deformity. Only very, very rarely do you ever find a tooth of this quality. It is not the largest tooth but what it lacks in size, it makes up in quality beauty!!! This tooth's high luster is NATURAL and unlike many other dealers' teeth, has not been machine polished, dipped in oil, floor polish or coated with some type of artificial shine. The jet black bourlette is one of the most complete and perfect ones we have seen in memory. The root is amazing, as well, in an extremely dense condition without any cracks or gaps and with a rich espresso color to contrast the enamel. Serrations and tip are complete and truly PHENOMENAL! Blade edges where the serrations meet the root on either side are unbroken. There are tons of Megalodon teeth out there on the market that will never be worth the money you pay for them and truckloads have been found for every single tooth that is of this quality. This specimen has absolutely NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. A superb specimen that will give a lifetime of pride to its owner.
Divers will tell you that megalodon teeth like this are extremely difficult to find in today's waters. This spectacular specimen is loaded with so many features desired by advanced Megalodon tooth collectors. Current and increasing future demand will never be satisfied by the dwindling numbers of the truly top grade specimens such as this beauty, hence their constantly increasing prices each year.
Megalodon teeth found in rivers are almost always heavily eroded and worn from the high energy environment in which they were subjected to. They usually have dull, sand-blasted enamel, peeling back from the core. The roots are often damaged. This tooth is amongst THE FINEST Megalodon teeth typically found. While we strictly avoid Megalodon teeth with restoration or repair, Caveat emptor as some Megalodon teeth in many dealers' inventories in the larger sizes and "seemingly" fine qualities have repair or restoration and this is not often disclosed to the buyer accurately either because of ignorance or dishonesty.
