NOTE: THIS IS THE LAST OF THE MAMMOTH FOSSILS WE HAVE FOR SALE. WE WILL NO LONGER BE OFFERING ANY MAMMOTH FOSSILS DUE TO CHANGING LEGISLATION IN AMERICA. WE CANNOT SHIP THIS FOSSIL TO NEW YORK OR NEW JERSEY AND NEXT YEAR, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SHIP TO CALIFORNIA. IF YOU EVER WANTED A TOP QUALITY MAMMOTH FOSSIL, THE TIME IS NOW AS SUPPLY WILL SOON BE ENDING ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.
This is an EXTREMELY RARE fossil molar tooth from a STRAIGHT-TUSKED prehistoric elephant of the species Palaeoloxodon antiquus (Elephus antiquus). Remains of this ancient elephant have been found in Europe and associated with early human archaeological remains which indicates that prehistoric humans of Europe hunted and lived alongside these massive beasts. This is the ONLY tooth of this RARE extinct elephant we have ever had the pleasure of offering. It was the ONLY specimen of a museum de-accessioned Ice Age collection we are selling.
This tooth shows superb preservation and classic primitive plate structure anatomy that these teeth are known for. For the ultimate collection of not only prehistoric elephants but an ideal specimen to display alongside stone tools of Early Man which hunted these animals. The tooth is complete with every important antomical feature. Due to changing legislation, we will no longer offer ANY mammoth fossils when this collection is sold out. Entire molar is stable and solid of excellent mineralization. This tooth is complete with NO REPAIR AND NO FABRICATION. 100% GENUINE!
ALL our fossil teeth are dried for at least one to two years prior to selling to ensure against disintegration. They are then chemically treated in multiple steps with multiple types of hardeners to protect their intact nature. We guarantee your tooth will not fall apart. If you purchase a mammoth fossil tooth from ANY SOURCE without the supplier performing this lengthy drying process and treatment, cracks will likely grow and it WILL likely fall apart as the tooth can take an extremely long time for the core to fully dry.
