This rare fossil is from Europe, was legally exported from Europe and can be legally shipped to any country. It was not illegally exported out of Russian (Siberia) as ALL Russian / Siberian Ice Age fossils are. Shipping Siberian fossils across country borders risks seizure of the shipment without reimbursement. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3757538/Photographs-reveal-illegal-mining-selling-woolly-mammoth-tusks-Russia.html
RARELY are the complete set of fused sacral vertebrae in a mammoth spine found complete and unbroken as this amazing specimen is. This is THE FINEST fossil of a SACRUM from a EUROPEAN Woolly mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius, of the last Ice Age. It is the best specimen we have ever seen - in 100% complete form with stunning preservation. The distal centrum has some type of pathology deformation which adds to the fascinating nature of this piece. In an entire mammoth skeleton, there is only ONE of these as it is the part of the pelvis that comprises a series of fused vertebrae. The sacrum is the base of the vertebral column. Rarely is a fossil mammoth sacrum found. In the last 17 years of collecting European Ice Age fossils, we have seen only a handful. The level of completeness and preservation on this specimen is tops! This is an extremely intriguing, sculptural specimen as much as it is rare! NO REPAIR OR RESTORATION. AS FOUND! 100% GENUINE!
WOOLLY MAMMOTH FOSSILS are a popular display fossil of any collection. The famous Woolly mammoth can be considered the mascot animal of the Earth's final Ice Age and this massive beast most certainly gained respect to all that got in its way including both Neanderthals and modern humans.
ALL our Woolly Mammoth fossils are dried for at least TWO YEARS in a dehumidified environment prior to selling, to ensure against splitting. They are then chemically treated in multiple steps with proprietary hardeners to protect their intact nature. We guarantee your fossil will not split or fall apart. If you purchase a Woolly Mammoth fossil from ANY SOURCE without the supplier performing this lengthy drying process and treatment, cracks will likely form and grow. Fossils found in water or a wet environment take a very long time for the core to fully dry.
