SEE MORE FOSSIL ISURUS SHARK TEETH
This is a supreme and large fossil shark tooth from the extinct Broad-Toothed Mako (Broad-Toothed White) shark called Isurus hastalis. An extinct shark that was believed to be a member of the White Shark family, teeth from Isurus hastalis look remarkably similar to the modern Great White Shark less the serrations. Some consider this shark the "Grandfather of the Great White".
The only way to fully appreciate this STUNNING tooth is to see it in person as the enamel flickers from champagne to blue-silver when moved in light. The highly unusual reflective chatoyance to the enamel is mesmerizing and not captured in these still photos. This large tooth features SUPERB preservation and luster, and came from a large killer prehistoric shark!
