The Zlichovaspis (Odontochile) trilobites are of a graceful and beautiful design. With their long genal spines and streamlined pygidium terminating in a fine point, it can easily be seen why trilobites have been called "the butterflies of the ancient seas".
At a whopping 5.75 inches in length, this is THE LARGEST Zlichovaspis trilobite we have ever offered or seen. It is A MONSTER and larger than many Drotops trilobites of the same period! This specimen possesses a dramatic preparation with the trilobite partially enrolled and the long genal spines sticking straight up in the air as the head is tucked down. Beautiful surface detail with entire trilobite fossilized in a dark olive charcoal hue which contrasts in an aesthetic manner with the warm light gray of the original host rock on which it was once entombed.
