Advanced fossil collections are defined by the magnificence of the specimens that they contain and this is one of those pieces that elevates a collection to one of great importance. It is a spectacular partial prehistoric JAGUAR mandible of unusual light preservation with a complete array of all the original teeth including a magnificent, large fang. The teeth are a gorgeous dark, rich gold color that beautifully compliments the light color of the fossil bone. This investment-class fossil was found as you see it and no teeth were added or glued to composite a more complete jaw. There is NO RESTORATION and only a few cracks at the front in the bone were filled. The fang is whole and unbroken as it was found and is the original canine tooth as can be seen by the matching light cream brown hue to the inside of the crown in relation to the bone.
This is an EXTREMELY SCARCE fossil jaguar jaw and is certainly an extraordinary opportunity to acquire an impressive and scientifically rare specimen of one of the dangerous apex predators of North America's final Ice Age.
