SEE MORE FOSSIL ISURUS SHARK TEETH
This is a supreme and large fossil shark tooth from the extinct Broad-Toothed Mako (Broad-Toothed White) shark called Isurus hastalis. An extinct shark that was believed to be a member of the White Shark family, teeth from Isurus hastalis look remarkably similar to the modern Great White Shark less the serrations. Some consider this shark the "Grandfather of the Great White".
With a unique light mottled bronze hue and a highly reflective chatoyance, this large tooth has a stunning and unique enamel. If you look closely at the base of the tooth, you can see light open spot patterns, a very rare feature that is sometimes seen in Megalodon teeth from this same special location of this deposit. This stunning collector grade tooth features SUPERB preservation and luster.
