NOTE: THIS IS THE LAST OF THE MAMMOTH FOSSILS WE HAVE FOR SALE. WE WILL NO LONGER BE OFFERING ANY MAMMOTH FOSSILS DUE TO CHANGING LEGISLATION IN AMERICA. WE CANNOT SHIP THIS FOSSIL TO NEW YORK OR NEW JERSEY AND NEXT YEAR, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SHIP TO CALIFORNIA. IF YOU EVER WANTED A FINE GRADE MAMMOTH FOSSIL, THE TIME IS NOW AS SUPPLY WILL SOON BE ENDING ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.
This is a top grade specimen of a BABY molar tooth from a EUROPEAN Woolly mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius, of the last Ice Age. The tooth is complete with full roots and has an amazing fully intact and prominent chewing surface. Teeth from baby mammoths are scarce and rarely survive prehistory intact, not to mention survive with the roots as this specimen shows. Rarely, are Woolly Mammoth teeth like this ever found from European deposits. Entire molar is stable and solid of excellent mineralization. This woolly mammoth tooth is complete with NO REPAIR AND NO FABRICATION. 100% GENUINE! This tooth comes from a museum Ice Age collection we are selling and once the collection is sold, we will never again have specimens like this. The Woolly mammoth this tooth came from died with this tooth in its jaw as evidenced by the presence of a root. This is not a common "spit" tooth you often see sold for a fraction of the price of this fine example.
WOOLLY MAMMOTH TEETH are a popular display fossil of any collection. The famous Woolly mammoth can be considered the mascot animal of the Earth's final Ice Age and this massive beast most certainly gained respect to all that got in its way including both Neanderthals and modern humans.
ALL our Woolly Mammoth teeth are dried for at least one year prior to selling to ensure against disintegration. They are then chemically treated in multiple steps with multiple types of hardeners to protect their intact nature. We guarantee your tooth will not fall apart. If you purchase a Woolly Mammoth fossil tooth from ANY SOURCE without the supplier performing this lengthy drying process and treatment, cracks will likely grow and it WILL likely fall apart as the tooth can take an extremely long time for the core to fully dry.
