NOTE: THIS IS THE END OF THE MAMMOTH FOSSILS WE HAVE FOR SALE. WE WILL NO LONGER BE OFFERING ANY MAMMOTH FOSSILS DUE TO CHANGING LEGISLATION IN AMERICA WHICH WILL OVER TIME, MAKE FOSSILS LIKE THESE VERY, VERY SCARCE. IF YOU EVER WANTED A FINE GRADE MAMMOTH FOSSIL, THE TIME IS NOW AS SUPPLY WILL LIKELY BE GETTING TIGHTER ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.
This is an ATLAS vertebra from a EUROPEAN Woolly mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius, of the last Ice Age. In an entire mammoth skeleton, there is only ONE of these vertebrae. This vertebra, along with the axis vertebra, fit together behind the skull and supported the skull at the top of the spinal column. This vertebra is UNBROKEN. Rarely are these vertebra found this complete and in one piece! Missing the side processes but simply ENORMOUS and from a large bull mammoth! NO REPAIR AND NO FABRICATION. 100% GENUINE!
WOOLLY MAMMOTH FOSSILS are a popular display fossil of any collection. The famous Woolly mammoth can be considered the mascot animal of the Earth's final Ice Age and this massive beast most certainly gained respect to all that got in its way including both Neanderthals and modern humans.
ALL our Woolly Mammoth fossils are dried for at least TWO YEARS in a dehumidified environment prior to selling, to ensure against splitting. They are then chemically treated in multiple steps with proprietary hardeners to protect their intact nature. We guarantee your fossil will not split or fall apart. If you purchase a Woolly Mammoth fossil from ANY SOURCE without the supplier performing this lengthy drying process and treatment, cracks will likely form and grow. Fossils found in water or a wet environment take a very long time for the core to fully dry.
