CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT GIANT BEAVERS
A super rare tusk specimen that is of a species and site that is rarely commercially available. This is a section of the main tusk incisor of an extinct Giant Beaver of the species Trogontherium cuvieri. Remains of this animal have only been found in England and Siberia and it is the genus is unique to this single species. The site in which it was collected is the type site for the Cromerian interglacial period and is a prehistoric river bed that existed over 500,000 years ago in north Norfolk, England. The site is famous and has been known for well over a century. A find such as this is scarce.
The specimen has not been enhanced or restored. The enamel still retains its natural lustrous shine. For advanced collectors of unusual Ice Age animals this is a 'must have' specimen from this huge and strange creature. It is most likely we will NEVER have the privilege of ever offering any material from this species again as it came from an old private collection by the original excavator. UNBROKEN. COMPLETE AND INTACT WITH NO REPAIR OR RESTORATION.
