At its maximum size, this 2 inch tooth is from the swift meat-eater Deltadromeus agilis. High grade, properly identified specimens are very hard to locate and it has been over 10 years since we have seen teeth of this quality. With much of the dinosaur fossil remains in this area now completely dug out and large parts of the formation leveled, it is likely that teeth like this will now be found mainly in older collections as this one was in.
The color is a beautiful dark brick red brown hue with excellent enamel. Tooth is complete with intact tip and has a longitudinal fissure running partially up the length of the tooth but it is stable. The tooth is so large and nice otherwise, that this hardly detracts from its beauty or more importantly, rarity. UNBROKEN WITH NO REPAIR OR RESTORATION. Serrations are well-preserved and visible. One of the last large and best ones we have from an old acquisition made many years ago.
